About Me
- RACHEL
- is a denizen of the margins of society: artist, atheist, feminist of working-class origin and faux queen. She took the facebook What Classic Photographic Film Are You? quiz and the result was Kodak Ektachrome Infrared EIR "Hard to handle, tough to shoot and totally unpredictable - you're the maverick of the film world and you are truly unique. Part creative genius and part lunatic, you dream of running away to the woods or desert to devote yourself to your vision. Tinkering around and conversing with your vices fills the time between photographic excursions to New Mexico, grant-writing and academia. You are one-of-a-kind, and the most creative mind many of us have ever known. You are an artist and a scholar." Since 1990, Rachel has held an academic post at a large American university. She works in a variety of media and hybrid forms: drawing, painting, artist's books, photography, music and performance art.
